Preschool is an exciting time as children learn about themselves as they explore their interests, become more independent, and develop the social skills to make new friends.

The Gregg House Preschool is a vibrant learning community and every day we provide safe and structured ways for children to grow, and explore, as our educators support the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development of children 2.9 years -6 years of age.

We believe that each child is a unique individual with different needs, interests, and learning styles. Each child in our program progresses at his/her own pace and to support individual learning all classrooms are set up with learning centers, giving children the opportunity to work independently, in small groups, and with educators. Educators encourage and support children to master new concepts and skills, including Math Readiness, Reading Readiness, Language Development, Writing, Science, Art, Music, Gross/Fine Motor Skills, Computers, as well as key social/emotional skills.

Our Educators meet the standards that require a license from the EEC or MA Department of Education. Lead Educators must have or be working towards a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Early Education to maintain professional standing.

Staff receive 20 hours of training per year, as well as attend professional development days.

Staff/Child Ratios:

Each classroom has three Educator’s and an average class size of 1-20 children.

Administrative Team

Our Administrative team consists of the Director, Educational Coach, Social Worker and Administrative Assistant.

All staff are highly qualified in his/her respective area and work closely on a daily basis to provide a child and family with a seamless system of services.

Each member of the team is available to you during working hours.

Staff/Child Ratios

The minimum staff-to-child ratio is one-to-ten.

Each classroom has three Educator’s and an average class size of 1-20 children.

These ratios are maintained throughout the program’s operation.

Program operates from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is open year round!

7:00 to 8:45	Drop Off/ Early Morning Activities (free choice, table activities)
8:45 to 9:00	Transition, Clean up, Bathroom, Wash Hands
9:00 to 9:15	Breakfast
9:15 to 9:30	Circle Time (music, finger plays, stories, etc)
9:30 to 11:00	Center Time Activities (puppet show, tracing, sand table, water table, etc.)
11:00 to 11:15	Clean up
11:15 to 11:30	Coats/ Line up for outside
11:30 to 12:00	Outside/ Gross Motor (ring toss, bikes, sand play, slide, bubbles, etc)
12:00 to 12:15	Bathroom, Wash Hands, Set up for Lunch
12:15 to 12:45	Lunch
12:45 to 2:15	Rest Time
2:15 to 2:30	Bathroom, Wash Hands, Put away mats/blankets
2:30 to 2:45	Snack
2:45 to 3:00	Afternoon Circle (class discussion, flannel board story, finger plays, etc)
3:00 to 4:00	Afternoon Activities (science, computer activities, math, etc.)
4:00 to 4:30	Outside/ Gross Motor (jump rope, play tag, use sidewalk chalk, bicycles, etc.)
